Screen Condition
Cracks, pressure marks, backlight faults and the flexgate stage light effect all lower the offer. We check the display at full brightness.
Battery Health and Cycle Count
Cycle count and battery health both move the figure, as a worn battery needs replacing before resale. Check yours under System Settings, then Battery.

Earlier repairs are accepted. A repair done to a lower part grade may reduce the offer, which our inspection will identify and explain.
Find My and Activation Lock
Find My Mac, the Apple Account lock and any firmware password must be cleared before a MacBook trade-in can be completed. Forgetting this stalls more trade-ins than anything else.
Charger Included
Including the original MagSafe or USB-C charger can lift your trade-in offer. MacBook chargers are model specific, so bring the one from the box.

Yes. We accept cracked screens, swollen batteries and faulty keyboards. Damage lowers the offer, since those parts need replacing before resale, but a faulty MacBook still has real value and can be traded in.
Yes. Open System Settings, tap your name, then iCloud, and switch off Find My Mac with your Apple Account password. Any firmware password must be cleared too.
Yes. A high cycle count means a battery near the end of its life, which we replace before resale. Check yours in System Information under Power.
